Lemon International! Reinforcing bar, mesh and accessories sent over in containers to Sudan to construct a 40mtr single span bridge.
As part of the US infrastructure re-build of Sudan due to the Civil War, Lemon supplied steel in containers to Sudan to provide the groundwork to this 40m Single Span Highway Bridge, Sudan. Other spans previously supplied.
The delivery of reinforcement took a total of 12 weeks to get to its destination, 6 weeks sailing, and 6 weeks across land to remote the site.
Unbelievably, it proved to be more cost effective to ship quality products from reliable Cares approved UK sources half way round the world as opposed relying on 'local' sources. Lemon not only liaised with structural steel designers prior to production and shipping, but also organized for a steel fixer to go to Sudan to train the locals.
Snake was found in shipping container loaded from Rugby. As you can see, it was skinned and eaten by local guys at site!!
