The UKs largest £500 Million particle accelerator.
Just outside Didcot lies a very distinctive huge silver ring doughnut that houses, what is basically, a gigantic microscope. This is the Diamond Light Source, the UK’s national synchrotron science facility, the UKs largest particle accelerator, located at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire.
Opened in 2007, it has been in huge demand, and thus has an estimated 20 year lifetime. 20,000 boards of 60mm KN90 Clayboard were delivered on 50 articulated vehicles during 2003 at the beginning of a four year construction project.
An important project for science that Lemon are proud to be associated.
