What a good looking team! Supplying important deliveries to over 3000 contractors every year takes an enormous effort. It also requires a talented team of hard working, dedicated professionals, who are rightfully proud of the role they play in our success. We feel it’s good to put faces to names, so please meet the key members who consistently work hard to try and make Lemon that little bit better every day.
Ben leads the Sales team making all the pricing, planning and strategic decisions. If he’s not telling people what to do, or on the phone to a customer, you will find him drinking his random soya milk, or generally trying to pretend he is Jamie Redknapp.
Ben has been in the Industry for over 10 years, starting on the yard weighbridge before moving into steel reinforcing sales 8 years ago. A family man with two young boys, Bens dream is to have his own Sanham 5-a-side team. I think the kids will put him in goal.

Dawn was employed by Lemons in 2004 and operates and controls Sales Invoices and chases any due accounts. Although she only works part time her output and efficiency is that of a full time member of staff, and her no nonsense approach to debt collecting is frightening. The fear is cascaded around the office and you often see the sales team hiding under their desks when Dawn walks in their direction.
Full time work
Paul is one of Lemons success stories. Paul joined Lemon after breezing through college and joined the sales team. A few years later, he decided he wanted to be an accountant and started his gruelling 6 years training following in his families footsteps. Paul, now qualified, with total responsibility of the company’s finances, has a book about tax under his arm, and the world’s biggest calculator in his hand meaning Paul is a very happy man. He has an old school approach to work, no sick days, arrives to work early every day, and leads by example.
Paul loves his football and his years of constant playing and training has meant he has progressed from one of the best players in the local Premier League to a substitute in the reserves… Don’t give up your day job Paul.

Kevin Smith has worked at Lemon for over 20 years and there is nothing in the production process that he does not know. Dom has great experience in this industry and since joining lemons in June 2012 has shown what a professional and excellent salesperson he is. With his knowledge and experience Dom has proven to be a integral part of our dynamic sales team. In 2011 Dominic grew a moustache for Movember to raise money for charity. His wife Rebecca was not too impressed and neither was Dom as towards the end of the month he got told he looked like Ned Flanders. Once he shaved it off Rebecca was happy and Dom went back to just looking like Egon from Ghostbusters.

Paul joined the company in 1997 as an Office Junior, moving quickly into a Sales Executive role. To his credit he has progressed his way through the company after showing his leadership skills are second only to Barrack Obama. Paul will probably disagree and think his are even better than the Presidents. This rise through the company has taken its toll and he has developed a foot tapping problem, causing him to tap his feet all day long at his desk. His last 6 months have largely consisted of developing this website, which he hopes you enjoy.
With a marathon under his belt Paul decided to apply for an Ironman triathlon competition. Not being able to swim, and not owning a bike didn’t seem to put him off. His determination, mental strength and his love of bananas, helped him to complete this insane challenge. He continues to enter marathons and Ironman events.

Simon (or Ted as he is known to us) has been working in our sales team since June 2010. He is very passionate and gets on with his customers very well. Ted loves a cup of strong `Mans` tea, especially when he is at the stables mucking out horses and chasing dogs every night after work. Ted comes from a retail background and since joining us he has developed into one of our finest salesmen, he will always give 100 % and will do all he can to help out customers, horses and dogs.
In his spare time you may find Ted in doors eating pizza and watching The Only Way is Essex, he follows Arsenal Football Club and will always asks how they did on a Monday morning.

Is there anything Nick can’t do? Started his Lemon career in 1998 as an Office Junior, progressing quickly into the sales team. No. 1 salesman for 5 consecutive years, winning more work than any other salesperson in the history of the company. His management skills now being used with full effect in this new department largely consisting of a Transport reshuffle. New trucks and tracker system purchased, running costs down, improved efficiency, the list goes on…
A true family man, Nicks massive loss to the sales team, has been to the management teams gain, and is a massive success story. Is there anything Nick can’t do… Karaoke, Run, Wear Ties, Peel Oranges, Support a local football team, actually I can think of quite a lot…

Colin has been in the steel industry since he was 17 years old and so like’s to think he knows a bit about it. He joined Lemon in 1989 from another major steel company and hoped to use his skills to help guide Lemon to a bigger and better future. So far it’s going to plan.
A West Ham fanatic, he originally wanted to make it a rule that all new employee’s had to follow the Iron’s if they wanted a job, but this was never achieved (although one or two did lie at interview to help their employment chances)

Gemma coordinators the Production and Prefabrication, ensuring everything is booked in and relevant paperwork/tickets are produced making sure the system runs smoothly. In between studying the next pair of shoes she is going to buy or drooling over Robert Pattinson, Gemma is a mean cake maker, and has been blamed by a few members of staff for their expanding waistlines.
Gemma joined the company in 2010 and Alan the Production Manager would be lost without her.

Tim has been a great asset since joining the Company in Dec 2008; having worked for other steel companies and on some prestigious joint venture projects, he brings great experience and a wealth of knowledge. Concentrating on developing current accounts and generating new business since joining the sales team, Tim’s professionalism and drive has helped him achieve excellent results.
It’s always a pleasure to see Tim turn up every morning with a smile on his face, considering every day he rides his motorbike to work. You will never hear him moaning about the weather or his hair being messed up. Tim may be the oldest sales man but he does not show it, apart from at Christmas Parties where you will find him on the karaoke pretending to be Cliff Richard and singing his favorite song Bachelor Boy.

Alan joined the company in 2008 and has seen the company expand considerably in both machinery and tonnage. Alan likes to think of himself as a sort of Captain Kirk figurehead and addresses nearly everyone as Mr as he sits in his command chair with the communicator (office chair and Walkie Talkie.)
After a hard day’s work he likes nothing more than to unwind playing Fifa on Ps4 or sitting back and watching box sets of James Bond movies and 80’s cop show Miami Vice. A keen family man he loves going on holidays especially to America or sitting at the Captains table on a cruise ship.

Part time accounts assistant part time lady of leisure, if she’s not balancing the cash she’s out with her friends having afternoon tea and a gossip.
Linda joining Lemons in 2006 helps with all aspects in the accounts department and is an unsung hero. She is Mrs Efficient and you will never see her at an untidy desk. Linda brings a calming approach to the team and I’m sure without her there would be a few more grey hairs in the accounts department.

Amanda runs the Purchase Ledger single handed with maximum precision and offers great technical knowledge and ability.
She has been employed with Lemons since 2004 and is a crucial part to the accounts department.
You will often see Amanda diving into her draw for her stack of sweets, which we believe she is fuelled on. When she’s not crunching numbers or playing sweet shops she likes to plan and construct her dream house, and one day hopes to be on Grand Designs.

Kevin left school at 16 and to his Dad`s joy was accepted as a Technical Apprentice with Ford Motor Co. developing his love of engineering and gaining a firm grounding in manufacturing. After 14 years of moderate success he seized the opportunity to move on when offered the chance to manage Scott Forbes, a small reinforcing company in Benfleet. He learnt hard and fast about the industry and business from its owners until a difference of opinion inspired Kevin to go into partnership with Barry Lemon of W.B.Lemon & Co.. Kevin bought the remainder of the company in 1996 when Barry retired to Spain…… the rest as they say is history.

Since 1990 Jon has worked at several leading builder’s merchants, quickly being promoted to management in his early 20’s and leading several of his own branches to success. Since joining Lemon’s in 2007 Jon has, until recently, been the youngest member of the team, but since taking over as Sales Manager he has added two new younger members to the sales team knocking him into third position.
If Jon is not playing super heroes, knights or star wars with his young son he can be found in the kitchen dreaming of being the next Master Chef.

Cameo is a highly organised and self-motivated individual. Despite only working with Lemon since April she feels it is a lively and challenging environment. Although Cameo is the youngest of the sales team, her tenacious attitude, professional manner and outgoing personality enables her to establish a rapport with people at all levels. If you happen to visit the Midlands office and need to speak to Cameo, just look for the biggest hair!

Gary joined Lemon in June 2015 and is a great member of the team. He is very efficient and thorough in everything he does, but I suppose it comes naturally as he is also a driving instructor. Apparently he has a very high success rate, he only wishes his football team was as successful, but being an Arsenal season tickets holder he sees a lot of passes but not many trophies!

Tyler is the newest member of or sales team, having joined in October 2015 after traveling the world he finally decided to get a proper job and is doing it great. Being a semi-pro footballer he is often limping around the office on Monday mornings and claims to be a big strong defender who once set up a goal. He is also the youngest member of our team, although by his haircut you would not of thought so - must be all the heading of footballs.

Dave joined the Company in April, 2014 on a part-time basis having retired from FORD Motor Company with 42 years of loyal service, working as a Senior Engineer in Heat Exchanger Manufacturing and in the latter years as a Senior Productivity Engineer on future model Engine Manufacturing Programmes.
Dave brings a wealth of experience and great knowledge of Manufacturing disciplines with him and to that end, Dave lead our ISO-14001 effort to a successful conclusion when we achieved UK CARES accreditation in June, 2015…….Next Stop …… Sustainability !!!!!
Dave is a family man, with two grown-up and off-hand ‘children’ and three grandchildren. Apart from his family, Dave’s undoubted passion is Chelsea Football Club, where he and his wife are home and away season ticket holders, with their highlight is being at the Champions League Final success in Munich, and their lowlight is being at the Final in Moscow.

Hayley is one of our prize assets and is very unique...Being the only `saleswoman` at Wickford. Her bubbly personality is great for the office, although the bubbles may have come from a bottle or two of prosecco.
Being an ex-estate agent, everyone loves speaking to Hayley and Hayley loves speaking to everyone... As she is fluent in most accents (they all sound the same).
Yoga, Cocktails and nice cars. All Cadbury chocolate and going to the gym to work off the chocolate.
Walking to work, cheap perfume and incompetence.
Buy lots of nice cars, build a swimming pool and go on lots of long holidays to practise her accents.
Lauren is one of lemons newest recruits and a fantastic addition to the accounts team. She put herself through her AAT qualification after her GCSE’s and has now decided to enhance her skills and qualifications further by studying towards becoming a fully qualified accountant. She has a creative edge for crafts and cooking, and she will often bring in her latest experiment from her cooking books by Joe Hicks (who she has a little crush on but won’t admit it), this makes us a very happy and full office indeed.
Lauren’s approach to work is first class and she has often completed a task before she has even been asked to do it. Her precision in work is even applied to her snack draw where she has a continuous supply of individually bagged and weighted nuts. There is no job too big or too small for Lauren and she is an exceptional team player.

Dean is a man who leads by example. Puts the hard work and the hours in, never off sick (other than when he is in hospital with broken bones) and is incredibly passionate about the prefab department. Dean is tasked with ensuring all prefab is produced to the right specification and is produced on time. With over 100 tonnes of prefab leaving his warehouse in all different shapes and sizes every single week this is no easy task.
He is also very proud of the apprentice scheme we run at Lemon and he continues to develop the welding apprentices into fantastic competent employees.
In his spare time he is a very keen cyclist. Often seen racing off road cyclocross races, trying his best to not come last. Dean used to ride motorbikes including racing them on track days but because he kept crashing and coming last he decided to crash and come last at cycling. We suspect in a few more years after a few more broken bones he will choose a different sport to come last at. (For the record, Dean has been spotted beating some cyclists but we choose to ignore those races!)
Cycling, Summer, Sunbathing, the wife.
Winter, the cold, incompetence.
